Helping you feel like yourself again.
The ideals behind Hito Personal Development are to help people through their day to day lives and aid them along the journey to ownership of their own health and wellbeing.
All Treatments take 1 hour and cost 50 Euro, during this time I will use a variety of Holistic Therapies to tailor a treatment to meet you personal needs. I have found that this method helps me to provide the best possible treatment outcome.
The Holistic Therapies I use are:
Acupuncture
Massage
Cupping
Moxibustion
I often encourage clients to take an active role in looking after their health and wellbeing by using ear seeds, acupressure and in some cases moxibustion.
I avoid taking back to back appointments, this allows clients ample time to chill after the treatment, to this end tea and coffee are provided.
Please allow an extra 10 minutes for your first session.
Acupuncture is the art of inserting fine metal needles into the body to help regulate the nervous system and promote a smooth flow of Qi. This brings the body into a state where it can start to repair itself.
Acupuncture treatments bring about a sense of relaxation allowing the body to reset, helping to reduce the negative effects of high stress levels.
I use Japanese needles which are thinner and inserted much shallower, this allows for a much more comfortable treatment.
For those who are worried about needles I can use ear seeds and acupressure, which removes the need to use needles.
To increase the effectiveness of the treatment and aid you in being more active in taking care of your own health, I can teach you how to safely use ear seeds and acupressure points.
Using a combination of stretching and massage techniques drawn from various styles of oriental and western bodywork systems, these treatments gently soften and stretch the muscles and tendons, improve the flow of blood and remove adhesions.
Massage treatments are tailored to each person allowing the practitioner to:
Target specific regions to effectively deal with injuries and long standing physical issues.
Provide a general treatment that can be used to help relieve aches and pains, improve range of motion and help regulate the nervous system.
Stretches and certain techniques can be shown to the client to take home and practice increasing the efficacy of the treatment and allowing them to take a more proactive approach to their recovery.
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy, where the herb mugwort is burned close to the skin, gently warming the area.
There are many ways to apply moxa the most common being:
rolled in small cones and placed onto the body with a barrier in between the skin and moxa.
rolled into a tube and held near the area to be treated.
The therapeutic warmth from the moxa helps to improve the blood flow to the local area helping to relieve pain and increase mobility.
Moxibustion is particularly useful in treating stiff painful joints, clients can be taught how to safely use a moxa tube, allowing them to use it as part of a daily pain relief routine.
Cupping therapy creates a suction effect on various parts of the body to improve blood flow in the local area, this helps to:
Reduce pain
Increase mobility
Improve circulation
Traditionally glass cups were used with a flame to create the vacuum, although today I use plastic or silicone cups with a hand pump, as this gives better control of the suction.
It is quite common for marks to be left behind after a cupping session, while they may look scary, they do not hurt and go after a few days.
