Whether you are looking to take ownership of your health and wellbeing or just interested in trying something new you may benefit from learning Tai Chi and Qigong.

One to One tuition or small group classes can be provided either in person or online from the comfort of your own home.

Tai Chi and Qigong are ideal for learning at home as they only requires a small amount of space, no special clothing or equipment and a daily practice only takes about 20 minutes of your time (although you’ll probably enjoy it so much you’ll do more.).

Qi Gong is a Chinese system of exercises that consists repeating set movements while focusing on the harmonisation of movement, breath and intention.

Qi Gong exercises are easier to learn than Tai Chi as the focus is on either a single movement repeated, or a small sequence of moves repeated, or even sometimes just standing still.

 Qi Gong can be used to improve our mental well being. Some Qi Gong exercises have a powerful effect on our emotions, while others help us to ground ourselves and relax.

A daily Qi Gong routine will help us:

  • Balance our emotions

  • Centre our thoughts

  • Lighten our mood

We can practice Qi Gong in the morning to prepare us for the day, or in the evening to ready us for sleep, you can even practice Qi Gong sitting on the bus.

Tai Chi is often called "Moving Meditation" this is down to the effect it has on our nervous system, by practising slow controlled movements and focusing our mind on these movements we are promoting the parasympathetic nervous system in the body.

This will help bring about a relaxed state allowing the body to heal and function more efficiently.
